Terms of service

Effective 2026-10-06 · OpsMate (itops.sh)

The service is provided by the operator of OpsMate (itops.sh). These terms apply to your use of the OpsMate cloud SaaS, the standalone desktop client, and related billing. The service is for organizations and professional users. Using the service means you agree to them.

1. The service

OpsMate is a server operations assistant: connect a server, discover what is running, confirm monitors to start patrols, and use AI to inspect logs, organize evidence, and suggest next steps. It does not replace operators and does not guarantee that unattended use will fix every incident.

SaaS Free is permanently free, with no trial window and no server cap. A paid AI quota subscription only adds AI requests; it does not unlock extra menus, server capacity, or Enterprise features. Enterprise complete capabilities and private deployment are quoted by contract.

2. Accounts and security

You must have full civil capacity, and if you use the service on behalf of an organization you must have authority to bind it. You must keep login credentials safe. Actions taken with authorized access are treated as yours or your organization's. Revoke access promptly when people leave.

3. Subscriptions and fees

AI quota subscriptions are billed through Stripe. Each unit adds 500 AI requests per month. Monthly price is $10 per unit; yearly price is $100 per unit (two months included). You enter the quantity; the default is 1. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. The checkout page and invoice control the price; taxes may apply.

4. Free service and AI quota

Free includes 500 AI requests each month and does not limit servers. Buying extra AI quota will not unlock extra menus, server capacity, or Enterprise features. When quota runs out, only new AI requests pause; other available Free features keep working.

One AI request is one complete model call, totaled by UTC calendar month. In the terminal, running commands and then analyzing their output counts as another request. SSH patrol checks themselves do not consume quota; AI summaries of patrol results or logs do. The counter resets at the start of each UTC month.

5. Credentials, AI data, and automatic execution

  • On the standalone desktop client, SSH keys and passwords stay in a local encrypted vault by default and are not uploaded automatically. Unattended patrols after the computer is off require credentials you explicitly host in the cloud.
  • Credentials added in the web console are cloud-hosted.
  • Cloud AI may receive your question, recent terminal output, patrol summaries, or related log excerpts. Secret-looking material is redacted first. SSH private keys are not sent to the model as connection credentials. Keeping credentials on-device does not mean all data stays on-device.
  • In the terminal and Telegram private chat, dangerous commands are blocked, and low-risk actions such as service restarts and log rotation run automatically by default. Pending fixes from patrols also run automatically if nobody responds within 30 minutes. Please use a least-privilege account on production servers. Patrols run check commands automatically. If a follow-up action is classified as low risk and the cloud already has that server's credentials, OpsMate may run it (for example a high-confidence service restart). Free does not mean the product never changes a server. The account holder bears the outcomes of such automatic actions, including low-risk auto remediation and automatic restarts. The service does not guarantee that those actions are correct, complete, or will restore service.
  • The standalone desktop client is open source. The cloud SaaS is not. Open source is for review; it is not a third-party security audit.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for illegal activity, abuse of infrastructure, bypassing security controls, or unauthorized scanning of third-party systems. We may suspend abusive use.

7. Data and private deployment

If you use an Enterprise private deployment, your environment controls business data. SaaS console data is handled under the privacy policy. Do not upload data you are not allowed to process.

8. Intellectual property

The OpsMate brand, product UI, and documentation belong to their owners. Open-source components are licensed separately. You keep rights in your own configuration, scripts, and business data.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profits, or data loss. Total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you actually paid for the relevant service in the twelve months before the dispute (which may be zero while you use Free).

10. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and cancel an AI quota subscription under the refund policy. After the paid period ends, you return to the Free base quota. We may suspend or terminate the service for breach, non-payment, or legal requirements.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of establishment. The parties will first try to resolve disputes by negotiation. If negotiation fails, the dispute may be submitted to the competent courts at the operator's place of establishment.
